Drone Flying Guidelines

Whether you are flying for fun or profit there are basic guidelines that all drone pilots must abide by. These are just a few general guidelines. Ample information can be found at the following sites.

For more information go to https://www.faa.gov/uas/ or https://faadronezone.faa.gov/#/.

Fly at or below 400 feet above the ground or 400 feet above an object

Keep your drone within line of sight
Never fly near other aircraft, especially near airports

Do not fly in restricted air space. Check before you fly. https://kittyhawk.io/ or https://www.arcgis.com/

Never fly over people that are not involved in the shoot.

Never fly over stadiums or sports events.

Never fly near emergency response efforts such as fires.

Perform a safety check prior to every flight

checking the drone and the surroundings.

Never fly under the influence.

Use common sense at all times

Drone Roof Inspections

Roof inspections have traditionally been a time-consuming but necessary part of doing business for property owners, insurance companies and roofing companies. Safety is always a concern because of the heights involved and difficult to get to areas.

Lookout Drone Services can provide close-up images, an accurate map of the roof including all measurements, angles and areas including roof geometry DXF files for CAD analysis. The turnaround time from inspection to a detailed report is less than 24 hours and the inspector never has to leave the ground.

This is an efficient low-cost way to reduce risk, improve accuracy, and save time on the overall process.
The data and reports are delivered online for you to easily view with no travel involved.

Please feel free to call me to discuss roof inspections or any of the other services available from Lookout Drone Services.

Thank you,

The importance of drone mapping in today’s world

Drone mapping has become an efficient low cost way of gathering data. A drone can fly a preprogrammed course and cover large areas in a fraction of the time it takes using conventional methods. This data can then be turned into valuable information in a short time. Here are only some of the uses:

Two dimensional and three dimensional maps can be created quickly to assist in site analysis, construction progression and inventory control.

Volumetric mapping can determine accurate volumes of stockpiles, material extraction pits and spoil heaps. This can be done safely from a distance reducing risk on the job site.

Cell and radio tower inspections can be done from ground level producing detailed photo and video as well as an accurate three dimensional map.

Thermal drone mapping can be utilized in roof inspections, three dimensional heat distribution, and solar panel inspections.

Construction progression time-lapse video can be compiled to show step by step views of construction projects. Periodic flights over a sight can be transformed into a concise, informative representation of the project.

These are only a few examples of solutions we can provide to your business. Contact us today for more information.

Mapping with DroneDeploy

We completed two mapping projects today. Aerial mapping is an amazing technology that creates accurate detailed maps by making multiple passes over the terrain to be mapped taking many separate images.

After the flights the images are put together using computer programs to produce 2D and 3D maps.

This service may be more affordable than you might think. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
